Winter Break Camp 2016
LAST DAY OF CAMP
What a wonderful end to such a great week! We can't thank all the campers and parents enough for making this Multi Arts winter art camp such a success.
Today to finish up, we made crazy creatures in art with Titus using ink and blowing air through straws. The older groups also did some final pastel shading and silhouette collage pieces.
The younger groups played designer/model dress-up and did a fashion show with Asia. Other groups made some cool accessories, including more hologram medallions!
Josh lead some more awesome mime and dance activities and read stories with his fantastic theatrical flair.
The younger group acted out a play they wrote with Tana, and later the older groups wrote letters to aliens (and imagined the alien's responses!) and made group alliteration poems.
The oldest group finished their fabulous music video with Raymond, portraying a wide spectrum of emotions to the sound of the song "Happy."
Again, thank you for bringing so much energy and creative brilliance to the camp this week. It was an inspiring week for all the staff here at Multi Arts. We hope you had as much fun as we did!
We hope to see you join us this April for the spring break camp, and then again in the summer for one of our summer sessions!

FOURTH DAY OF CAMP
Another full day of art and fun, and the week is almost over at the Multi Arts winter camp!
Today in art with Titus, we made board games and learned to paint night-creatures using shading techniques.
In costume design with Asia we made dream-catchers, bracelets, watches, and even hologram medallions.
With Josh we built elaborate fluorescent sculptures using gelato cups, and got to play outside more!
In creative writing we made cut-out collage stories which were beautiful, and very silly.
At the end of the day the younger campers got to do arts and crafts with Ines, our director.
It was another fabulous day and it's been just wonderful to see how much amazing work the children have been able to do in just four days. We are looking forward to tomorrow, and sorry to see everyone go!
We hope you are already thinking about joining us again in April for the SPRING BREAK CAMP!

This is a story Cian wrote, using the letters of his name for the first line of each. All the kids really liked it!
Casting spells was not very easy. In fact, if you messed up, you could possibly end the world. Albert used the exact reason to try to keep himself under control, and Never even coming close to messing up. He put a lot of pressure on himself, and when he was Going back from the store, little did he realize that he had Added one too many spider legs to his potion vial. When He put the potion vial into the cauldron, things got wacky. First, the water turned green. After, a hobgoblin popped out of the murky water and swallowed Albert whole. Next, for one split second the earth was covered in lava, and then everything stopped. The hobgoblin burped. Cian Gahan Acrostic Story. (Group IV)

THIRD DAY OF CAMP
Today the creativity continued to flow, with some warmer weather that even let us spend a little time playing outside.
In art, campers worked on making talking bird puppets, cutting out shapes with stencils and making 3D sculptures with cardboard.
Today we had a special guest theater teacher, Olivia, who did lots of drama improv games and had campers acting out short skits. Lexis, one of the CIT's in group 1 wrote this: "One thing that really stood out to me about today was how one of our usually shy kids, Ariana, got onstage in theater and totally took a new personality and stepped out of her comfort zone to act out her character. "
Groups 1 and 3 got to do some fantastic miming activities in the afternoon with Josh.
In creative writing with Tana, group 3 talked about what makes a good story, and began making up their own stories and writing comic strips. Group 4 continued to work on their fabulous short stories and making their own comic strips as well!
We made colorful masks with Asia in costume design.
Raymond continued to work with group 4 on their music video.
Shiko lead lots of playful activities and games (and took lucky groups 1 and 2 outside) and also read some lovely stories.
All in all, it was a fun and productive day and we hope everyone continued to enjoy their time at Multi Arts!

FIRST & SECOND DAY OF CAMP
Today was a full day of fun and creativity at Multi Arts! The younger groups started drawing creatures with pastels and painting in Art with Titus, while the older groups worked on shading and blending backgrounds with pastels and cutting out figure silhouettes.
We continued sewing and decorating textiles in costume design with Asia.
In creative writing with Tana, group 2 used their drama skills to act out a Shell Silverstein poem and then wrote a silly poem of their own as a group! Group 3 wrote some fantastic stories using cut-out magazine pictures as inspiration, and then started working with metaphors and similes to add even more flair to their stories.
In Josh’s afternoon activities campers dressed up with colorful fabrics, engaged in collective educational fun and playful games, in which children train their social skills, waiting for their turns, sharing space, being aware of the group, and being creative.
Shiko lead tons of fun games and read stories for groups 1 and 2.
Raymond and group 4 worked hard on their “music video”, which will be ready tomorrow.
We all had a fantastic day, in spite of the rain that didn't supported our outside time after lunch. Instead, we engaged in inside activities like reading more stories, drawing, and socializing.
