Today is the last day of camp. In art class, campers sorted all of their art projects from the week and finished up projects that weren’t already finished. Groups 2 and 3 made big whale paintings that will be displayed in the Jones Library! In fashion class, campers finished their tin foil people and their designs for bracelets. In theater class, they performed the plays they were working on yesterday and the day before. Group 3 performed a play for the rest of the camp. They also made pompoms, did origami, read stories, and did blacklight games. Some of the campers are already looking forward to doing Multi-Arts again this summer!

Today campers made people out of aluminum foil and tape, wrote stories about superheroes and gummy bears (among other things), and made stencil paintings. In acting class, they continued working on their plays from yesterday, wrote new ones, and did group improvisation. They also did blacklight games, danced flamenco, learned how to make paper cranes, and continued working on their castle projects.

The children are looking forward to tomorrow, but seem to be a bit sad that tomorrow is the last day.

Today Wednesday campers continued working on their mobile project, adding glow-in-the-dark paint, and made collages with pastel backgrounds and black-and-white paper. For fashion class they designed t-shirts based on children’s book illustrations. In theater, they wrote new plays, some of which were the sequels to yesterday’s plays. During crafts, they made castles out of paper and decorated them with marker drawings. They also wrote stories, played with black lights and costumes, and drew pictures.

Day 1

Today was the first day of camp for Spring 2014! In fashion class, campers learned basic fashion terminology and then took turn designing and modeling outfits. In art, some campers did paintings and others made three-dimensional cardboard animals that can be hung on the wall. For theater, they wrote their own short plays and began rehearsing for them. During craft time, they made necklaces and other small projects with paper, ribbon, string, feathers, and glitter. They also had dance class, outdoor time, and breaks for snack and lunch. Everyone seems to be looking forward to continuing his or her various projects tomorrow!

Day 2

Today campers continued working on projects that were begun on Monday and tackled new ones. They solidified their ideas for the plays they wrote yesterday, rehearsed, and performed them for the rest of the group. The three-dimensional cardboard animals were painted and a new project, a large cardboard mobile, was begun. Some kids also made bird hand puppets out of cardboard, feathers, and paper. In fashion class, campers made people out of pipe cleaners or foil and clay and dressed them in colorful clothes. In the afternoon campers danced flamenco, funk, and did mime. In writing class with Xinef  they wrote new fascinating stories.
